Entry requirements
Carleton assesses international undergraduate applicants on the secondary-school qualification of their own system; the Undergraduate Calendar states admission requirements are expressed against the Ontario High School System and that an overall average of at least 70 per cent is normally required to be considered, that holding the minimum only establishes eligibility, that all programs have limited enrolment, and that cut-off averages are set each year program by program and may be considerably higher than the minimum. Undergraduate Calendar 2026-27, Admission (https://calendar.carleton.ca/undergrad/undergradprograms/informationtechnology/): Admissions Information Admission requirements are based on the Ontario High School System. Prospective students can view the admission requirements through the Admissions website at admissions.carleton.ca . The overall average required for admission is determined each year on a program-by-program basis. Holding the minimum admission requirements only establishes eligibility for consideration; higher averages are required for admission to programs for which the demand for places by qualified applicants exceeds the number of places available. All programs have limited enrolment and admission is not guaranteed. Some programs may also require specific course prerequisites and prerequisite averages and/or supplementary admission portfolios. Consult admissions.carleton.ca for further details. Note: If a course is listed as recommended , it is not mandatory for admission. Students who do not follow the recommendations will not be disadvantaged in the admission process. Degree Bachelor of Information Technology (B.I.T.) Carleton states it is not an additional expense but a prepayment of part of the tuition fee. It is not refundable unless the study permit is refused before the start of the term named in the offer, and Carleton requires proof of the refusal in advance of that term. The deposit must be paid before Carleton will issue the provincial attestation letter (PAL) needed for the study permit application; the PAL appears in Carleton360 roughly 7-10 business days after the deposit is received.
