About this programme
This one-year, full-time top-up route lets students who hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) or an equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering complete a BEng (Hons) degree. Students take third-year modules from LSBU's Building Services Engineering BEng (Hons) programme -- a major project, passive building design, and energy management and controls -- plus two specialist electives from either an electrical route (electrical power systems and distribution; lighting and electrical systems) or a mechanical route (heat and mass transfer applications; thermal energy systems).

The course is accredited by CIBSE and the Energy Institute as meeting the academic requirements for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status. LSBU states it has run building services engineering courses since 1947, and that graduates who combine the BEng with an accredited Masters can progress to Chartered Engineer status.
