About this programme
This one-year, full-time top-up route lets students with an HND or two years of prior study in Civil Engineering complete a BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering degree, taking third-year modules including a Group Design Project, Highway Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Professional Development, and an Individual Research Project. The underlying Civil Engineering BEng is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation, and Permanent Way Institution) on behalf of the Engineering Council -- fully satisfying the academic base for Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and partially satisfying that for Chartered Engineer (CEng).
