About this programme
Those wanting to teach in Ontario can apply for advanced admission consideration for the Bachelor of Education program alongside their four-year undergraduate program. Program description The Concurrent Education program offers students who are beginning their studies at Ontario Tech the opportunity to receive advanced admission consideration into the Bachelor of Education (BEd) program upon the completion of their four-year undergraduate degree.

The BEd program offers graduates the opportunity to qualify for Ontario Colleges of Teachers (OCT) certification and be prepared to teach Primary/Junior (Kindergarten to Grade 6) or Intermediate/Senior (Grade 7 to Grade 12) divisions. Students enrolled in Concurrent Education alongside their undergraduate degree must satisfy a minimum grade requirement, complete prerequisite courses, maintain full-time enrolment, and confer their four-year undergraduate degree credential by June in the year they wish to start the BEd, which starts in September. I decided to complete my Bachelor of Education at Ontario Tech to teach youth who have been in conflict with the law. I was fortunate enough to have met some of my long-time friends in my undergraduate program and have been impacted by a variety of professors throughout my first four years. The professors showed me what it means to be passionate about a field of study and created a foundation for my learning, while allowing me to learn fundamental skills to prepare myself for the teaching career of my choice.
