Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts. Shape your music degree around what inspires you with courses that reflect your interests and professional goals, from solo and ensemble performance, theory, composition and arranging, music history, conducting, music education and choral pedagogy to music therapy, acoustics, game and film music, and music technology. The Music Education concentration (BA or BMus) offers a strong foundation for students interested in teacher education programs and/or a career in school teaching and private studio instruction. The Music Therapy Foundations concentration (BMus only) is a kind of Music Therapy “pre-med,” and is excellent preparation for graduate studies and eventual certification in Music Therapy. The Music Performance concentration (BMus only) is for students aiming to build a professional career in performance. Admission to this concentration is determined by a juried audition held at the end of Year 1.
