The Smith Bachelor of Commerce Program is an in-person program, and most courses are offered exclusively in an in-person format (see Queen's Modes of Instruction definitions). In-person participation is essential for achieving the Bachelor of Commerce Program Learning Outcomes, including developing team-based and professional communications skills, as well as for developing interpersonal skills and networks, engaging in active learning, and contributing to the learning community. Courses designated for in-person delivery will maintain this mode without modification. Instructors may determine if grades are associated with attendance and/or participation in classes (see Section 6.2 Attendance ). Failure to regularly attend classes may have a negative impact on a student’s ability to achieve essential learning outcomes and/or to meet the requirements for academic progression in the Commerce Program. Course offerings and program requirements change periodically. The Commerce Program administration works in conjunction with the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee to ensure that changes in the curriculum are made with the least amount of disruption to continuing students.
