About this programme
This three-year aerospace engineering degree is built around real engineering problems from the first term, with students designing components, testing them in the university's wind tunnels and analysing performance using the same CFD, FEA and MATLAB tools used across the aerospace, motorsport and automotive sectors. Year one covers engineering fundamentals including statics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science and electronics alongside industry-standard CAD, CFD and FEA software.

Year two goes deeper into thermofluids, aircraft propulsion, instrumentation and control, with a year-long Enterprising Group Innovation Project, and is when most students take up their guaranteed placement year. The final year is anchored by a Group Aircraft Design and Enterprise project and an Individual Innovation Project.
