About this programme
Our Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (TCSOL) MA programme aims to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and professional competencies required to teach Chinese effectively to speakers of other languages in a variety of contexts globally and in Ireland.* In this course, you will develop an understanding of key issues in teaching Chinese as a linguistic system to a variety of learners and become familiar with recent research and publications on theory and practice in teaching Chinese. What are the entry requirements?
UCC equates an Indian bachelor's degree at 55% to a 2H2 and at 65% to a 2H1, but states that Indian applicants will normally be required to achieve a first class / first division mark, which is 75%. UCC names the University of Mumbai, University of Delhi, University of Calcutta and the University of Pune as institutions whose graduates may be accepted at high second class, at the discretion of the academic department. UCC does not reject three-year Indian degrees outright and states the standard of the awarding institution will be considered. Applicants should check the programme page for whether it asks for a 2H1 or a 2H2.
