Gaeltacht Applicants Pathway (Restricted Entry)

This four-year undergraduate primary teacher education pathway is restricted to applicants resident in an officially recognised Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking) area. Students specialise in Irish-medium primary teaching, choosing specialisms such as Gaeilge, Early Childhood or Special/Inclusive Education, and complete a four-week placement in the Gaeltacht plus extended school placements in years 3-4.

Must reside in a designated Gaeltacht Language Planning area; 6 LC subjects at O6/H7 with 3 at H5 incl. English, Irish (H3+) and Maths; Dept. of Culture/Heritage/Gaeltacht conducts an Irish-language interview
